Most of us remember very little about how we learned to read. It comes as a shock to discover through our children, as they struggle to master print, how complicated letters and words can be. Children learning with Letterland are more fortunate than we were. The Letterland characters bring the alphabet to life, and make the job of mastering letters and words a pleasure!

Our suggestions for your first purchase to get your child started on the Letterland Adventure is:

The Letterland ABC book: which introduces the 26 Letterland characters with two pages on each character.

First Alphabet Activity Book: First introduction to the a  z Letterland characters. Children can start to link letter shapes to letter sounds.

Once Upon Time: this video/DVD is a firm favourite with children as it brings the Letterlanders to life. Children quickly recognize all the characters and love the story.

Wall Frieze: Having a visual of the Letterlanders on the bedroom wall immerses children in the world of Letterland.

First Reading Flashcards: These flashcards link the lowercase and uppercase letters with stories about the Letterlanders. Sixty-five double sided cards with game ideas
